Duhamel's reading of the acte de baptême for Marie Bertran[d] shows that Marie was baptised on 4 December 1774 in Bergerac and born the last of November of the same year (30 November 1774). Marie was the legitimate daugher of Pierre Bertran[d] and Marie Grossatau, living at Rieudalaisse. Her godfather was Jean Counor and her godmother Marie Falguier. Present were Issac and Pierre Laguionie of the same town.

Duhamel was unable to find the acte de mariage for Jean Grasset Latour and Marie Bertrand either in Dordogne (Bergerac, La Force, and Sigoules), nor in La Rochelle between the dates of 1793 and 1797. She concludes that the marriage could have taken place before this four-year period or in some other town, given that Jean Grasset Latour was in the military.

Marie Bertrand, widow of Jean Grasset Latour, died at 7 in the evening, rue Clérac, in Bergerac at the age of 79. She was a native of the Lamonzie-Saint Martin district in Bergarac. The acte de décès (death certificate) was filed the next day on 8 February 1855 at 3 in the afternoon.
