Act de Naissance de Magdelaine-Cora Grasset Latour née le six du courant à six heures du matin fille de Jean Grasset Latour, Capitaine de la 3me Compagnie de a 63me-1/2 Brigade, de Marie Bertrand contine demeurant à Bergerac.”

Research by Duhamel in 1998 resulted in a photograph of the birth record. Note that a witness to the birth was her paternal aunt Anne Grasset Latour and that her father Jean Grasset Latour provided the particulars. Both of their signatures appear on the acte de naissance.

Duhamel notes that the following acte de mariage provides the date and place of death of Magdeleine Cora's father Jean (Perpignan, 13 July 1811). Also, the document notes that Magedeleine Cora did not know how to sign her name.
